Job Description:
We are seeking a Certified Payroll Specialist to join our growing construction company in Temecula, CA. The payroll specialist will be responsible for preparing, processing, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including certified payroll requirements for public works projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Process weekly payroll for construction employees, including certified payroll reports in compliance with government contract regulations.
+ Ensure accuracy and compliance with prevailing wage laws and public works project requirements.
+ Maintain payroll records and reports, including union benefits, deductions, garnishments, and other employee-specific payments.
+ Coordinate with project managers and HR to validate payroll allocations across multiple jobs.
+ Stay up-to-date on legislative and regulatory changes impacting payroll compliance.
+ Respond to employee inquiries related to wages and deductions.
+ Reconcile payroll records and assist with audits as needed.
Qualifications:
+ Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred or equivalent work experience with certified payroll.
+ Proven experience processing payroll for the construction industry, including prevailing wages and compliance requirements.
+ Proficiency in payroll software; experience with ERP systems or Excel is a plus.
+ Knowledge of union reporting and multi-state construction payroll is preferred.
+ Strong understanding of wage compliance, labor laws, and public works reporting.
+ High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet strict deadlines.
+ DIR & LCP Tracker experience
