Description

A growing company in the nonprofit industry is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This contract position requires an individual who excels in managing high-volume accounts receivable processes and demonstrates expertise in cash applications, billing, and collections. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and support critical financial operations. This position is on site downtown Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency.

• Oversee cash application activities to ensure timely and correct allocation of payments.

• Handle commercial collections, including following up on overdue accounts and resolving payment discrepancies.

• Perform billing functions, including generating invoices and maintaining detailed records.

• Monitor and track cash activity to ensure alignment with company financial policies.

• Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team, Accountant, and Controller to streamline financial workflows.

• Provide support during departmental transitions and assist with implementing new processes.

• Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status and metrics for management review.

• Maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards in all financial operations.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles.

• Proficiency in cash applications, billing functions, and commercial collections.

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and best practices.

• Familiarity with financial software, preferably NorthStar, and advanced Excel skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage high-volume workloads.

• Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and external stakeholders.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.

• Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, California, and commit to the contract duration.
