Description

Robert Half is hiring! We are looking for a dedicated Programmer Analyst to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will work closely with various departments to develop, maintain, and optimize SQL-based solutions that support reporting, analytics, and operational processes. Your expertise will play a key part in ensuring secure data management and the reliability of critical workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Design, test, and maintain T-SQL queries, stored procedures, tables, and views to support organizational analytics and reporting.

• Administer SQL Server security by creating and managing user accounts, roles, and permissions.

• Create, schedule, and oversee SQL Server Agent jobs, ensuring proactive monitoring and resolution of job failures.

• Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to refine SQL logic for departmental reporting and analytics.

• Develop and support ETL processes to streamline data integration from multiple systems.

• Monitor the health of data workflows and take ownership of ensuring consistent uptime for essential processes.

• Stay updated on emerging tools, systems, and methodologies to enhance database and programming capabilities.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 1-5 years of experience in SQL development roles, demonstrating attention to detail.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL syntax and database object design.

• Experience managing SQL Server security and user access.

• Hands-on experience with SQL Server Agent jobs, including creation, editing, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell is preferred.

• Exposure to cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure SQL and Snowflake, or a willingness to learn.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks effectively. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
