Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director to oversee payroll operations in South St. Paul, Minnesota. This role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with policies, and supporting employee benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll systems and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
• Process weekly payroll for union employees with attention to accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for union-related payroll matters.
• Handle workers' compensation cases, including documentation and follow-up.
• Manage employee benefits, including garnishments, child support payments, and tax levies.
• Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
• Support the onboarding process for new hires to ensure smooth integration.
• Assist employees with annual open enrollment for benefits.
• Update payroll systems with employee changes such as new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, and wage adjustments.
• Maintain confidential employee records, including personnel files, workers' compensation, and payroll information.
• Contribute to recruiting efforts as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems.
• Solid understanding of payroll processes for union environments.
• Experience in benefits administration, including 401k and garnishments.
• Familiarity with workers' compensation procedures and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of human resources and payroll-related laws and regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with care.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
