Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia. This contract role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dedicated non-profit organization by ensuring smooth financial operations. The ideal candidate will excel in handling payments, reimbursements, and other accounting tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Process invoices and ensure accurate coding and tracking within the accounts payable system.
• Manage and execute weekly check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions.
• Handle employee and student reimbursement requests promptly and in compliance with organizational policies.
• Collaborate with team members to handle 100-200 monthly payments efficiently.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of organizational payments, including vendor and internal disbursements.
• Maintain thorough records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Assist with resolving discrepancies and inquiries related to accounts payable.
• Utilize systems such as Concur to streamline invoice and payment workflows. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payment management.
• Strong proficiency in handling ACH transactions and check runs.
• Familiarity with systems such as Concur for invoice and expense processing.
• Ability to manage high-volume payment cycles efficiently and accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to address inquiries and collaborate with team members.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Previous experience in a non-profit environment is preferred but not required.
