This is an Anticipated Vacancy.
This position will assist the Division Construction Engineer with creating and managing databases, reports and spreadsheets, often generated by SAP or HiCAMS, for use on construction related tasks. Provide general office support including answering calls, record keeping, facilitating meetings, and other office related tasks. Will review the accuracy and completeness of pay requests and manage the processing of those requests in accordance with written and unwritten policies, procedures, rules, regulations, precedents, and practices. Assist in the creation of purchase orders and other contract documents. Will prepare correspondence and disseminate meeting minutes as applicable. Track and review Consultant and Construction Engineering invoicing and project documents as needed. Will assist in the review and assembly of contract final estimates and other contract documents as needed and in accordance with the NCDOT Construction Manual. Assist with management and maintenance of construction Ipads. A thorough understanding and knowledge of SAP is needed for this position. The knowledge and understanding of NCDOT personnel actions, including, but not limited to time entry, leave, and human resource actions is also needed for this position. A valid North Carolina Driver’s License is needed for this position. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the Division Construction Engineer.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
+ Experience reviewing detailed documents and records for accuracy and completeness.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
+ Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.
+ Experience interpreting and/or explaining policies, procedures, and laws.
+ Data entry experience entering and extracting information from a mainframe database or web based.
Additional Expectations:
Preference will be given to individuals that have a working knowledge of HiCAMS, general highway construction practices, SAP, and SharePoint.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
