    Job Summary

    Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Paraprofessional to join our academic team. This individual will play a vital role in supporting student learning and fostering a positive, productive classroom environment. Under the direction of a classroom teacher for instructional responsibilities and an Assistant Director for non-instructional tasks, the Paraprofessional helps ensure students remain engaged, on task, and progressing academically.

    Starting salary for entry-level paraprofessionals is $35,000, with increases based on experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Partner with classroom teachers to support daily instruction and classroom routines

    + Assist with classroom management using the school’s assertive discipline model

    + Promote and uphold school rules, expectations, and behavioral standards

    + Support students during both group and independent work

    + Reinforce student engagement, participation, and academic focus

    + Provide targeted academic assistance in reading, writing, math, spelling, and language instruction

    + Monitor student performance and assist those who need additional support

    + Review, check, and grade student work as directed by the teacher

    + Guide students in completing assignments and understanding academic content

    + Administer assessments and coordinate retakes as needed

    + Fulfill assigned supervision duties (arrival, lunch/recess, dismissal)

    + Participate in mandatory school events, including Back to School Night

    + Assist with school operations and other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team

    + Attend and actively engage in all required professional development sessions

    Qualifications

    + High school diploma or equivalent required

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability to analyze student needs and respond effectively

    + Familiarity with school policies and applicable state/federal education regulations

    + Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and student support skills

    + Proactive attitude and a commitment to academic and behavioral success for all students

    + Must pass all applicable MTELs within one year of employment

    + Full-time, annual position subject to annual performance evaluation
