General Statement of Duties / Distinguishing Features of the Class
Are you ready to take charge of a vital operation that keeps our city-county clean, safe, and environmentally responsible? As the Landfill Attendant, you’ll oversee the disposition of approved articles and materials at the City-County landfill, ensuring that every item is handled with care, compliance, and efficiency. This isn’t just about waste management—it’s about stewardship. You’ll play a key role in protecting public health, supporting sustainability efforts, and maintaining the integrity of one of our community’s most essential services.
This is responsible public service and clerical work involving the control of use of the landfill area, and preparation of related records and reports. The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Landfill Supervisor, but some leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain close cooperative working relationships with supervisory personnel, other division personnel, and the general public.
