Job Overview

As an integral member of the Total Rewards team, the Benefits Specialist will provide support to the Employee Benefits team to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective, market-competitive benefits for employees and their family members. The specialist will oversee certain vendor relationships, support new benefit implementations, manage regular benefits operational processes, and assist with responding to employee inquiries and issues. This Benefits Specialist role will also have a particular focus on overseeing the employee wellness program and related employee benefit engagement initiatives and communication materials.
The position requires attention to detail and critical-thinking, collaboration, communication, facilitation and organizational skills as well as expertise in employee benefit ERISA plans and applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
+ Three or more years experience in an employee benefits role that include vendor management, employee issue resolution, and operational responsibilities, ideally with a portion of this time including a specific focus on supporting an employer-sponsored wellness program and/or engagement strategies e.g., communications, employee presentations, etc.
+ Strong interest in engaging and educating employees to support their health and wellness goals
+ Knowledge of employee benefits-related laws and regulations including ERISA
+ Proven proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
+ Strong communication skills ability to interact and relate to employees and vendors
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Essential Functions:
+ Interacts daily with vendor and internal partners to manage benefit plans and related operational processes e.g., invoices, communications, file feeds, compliance considerations, and issue resolution
+ Oversees employee wellness vendor, collaborates with health coaches, and partners with local facilities on health engagement programming
+ Facilitates employee benefit communication and engagement processes including but not limited to Annual Enrollment materials, benefits website, onsite programming, and ad hoc events and communications as needed
+ Drafts initial employee benefit communications and/or reviews drafts developed by internal communications or vendor partners
+ Responds to employee or HR Business Partner inquiries regarding employee benefit issues e.g., enrollment questions, prior authorizations, and paycheck deductions; escalates complex or sensitive issues for guidance with leadership
+ Supports the implementation of new benefit vendors including file interfaces, communications, compliance, and reporting
+ Maintains confidentiality throughout all interactions with employees and vendors
+ Remains current with knowledge of employee benefits-related laws and regulations including ERISA
