To continue laying the groundwork and challenge what's possible for our business, we seek to partner with individuals ready to elevate their careers with us. *SUMMARY:*The Director, Chartering and Commercial Operations is responsible for developing and executing the chartering department strategy. As a member of the Global Ship Management leadership team, the director and their team will work across the commercial fleets to optimize fleet utilization and secure long-term chartering strategies. to ensure safe and reliable petroleum transportation service to our customers in addition to solving any problems that arise during the process. *GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* • Chartering Strategy & Execution • Develop and implement short- and long-term chartering strategies for LNG and other commercial vessel. • Lead negotiations for spot, time, and long-term charters, ensuring optimal commercial terms. • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks. • Commercial Operations • Oversee day-to-day commercial operations, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and operational efficiency. • Collaborate with operations, legal, finance, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts. • Manage voyage economics, freight rate analysis, and performance reporting. • Business Development • Identify and pursue new commercial opportunities in LNG and adjacent markets. • Build and maintain strong relationships with charterers, shipowners, brokers, and other key stakeholders. • Support strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and new market entry initiatives. • Leadership & Team Development • Lead and mentor a high-performing chartering and commercial team. • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. *EDUCATION:*Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation or a related field. Maritime Academy degree preferred. *EXPERIENCE:*10 years in management within petroleum industry, chartering, or maritime transportation industry. Seagoing experience is preferred. *TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY:*Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerBI or similar analysis tools. *COMPETENCIES:*Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop improvements or alternatives. Strong understanding of commercial contracts and contract law, preferably maritime. Ability to prepare, monitor and administer voyage analyses and budgets, as well as the ability to perform financial analysis. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Ability to directly or indirectly mentor, coach, train and/or supervise employees. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Ability to identify and/or document existing and new trends, as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization. Ability to provide subject matter expertise, counsel, and effectively influence others at various levels within the organization. Ability to adapt to changing work demands. Knowledge of federal and state marine safety, health and environmental regulations. Knowledge of Federal and state statues and liability rules governing claims. Knowledge of and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practices of change management. *OTHER:*Must be able to obtain a TWIC. *JOB SCOPE:*Position impacts multiple business units/segments. *WORKING CONDITIONS:*Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders.
