Job Description

Follow all health, safely, and environmental requirements; Perform cleanup duties; Perform material handling and storage duties; Identify, use, and care of common hand and power tools; Use and care of craft specific tools and equipment; Knowledge and application of craft related mathematics; Knowledge and use of safety standards and best safety practices relevant to rigging, Inspection of rigging equipment and hardware; Knowledge and application of common hitches, Emergency stop signal, Basic crane hand signals, Knot tying (bowline & clove hitch), and use of rigging equipment relevant to craft specific tasks; Main Line Paving experience preferred, PCCP (Portland Cement Concrete Paving) experience, slip form paving experience preferred.; Heavy Industrial concrete work to include spreading and leveling of concrete, compaction using power vibrators and hand tamping devices, smoothing process and all other operations to complete highway pours.; Pour, spread, tamp, level, shape, smooth and finish concrete to meet all horizontal tolerances and finish specifications from hard trowel to heavy broom.; Operate various machinery and equipment including, but not limited to, concrete edging, troweling, and finishing equipment, bull floats, brooms, and trowel machines.; Position concrete trucks, move discharge chute(s), set and spread poured concrete and finish concrete surfaces.; Perform concrete finishing to include troweling, edging, and brooming to achieve desired finish and trueness; including hand finishing behind paver.; Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straight-edge.; Patch horizontal and vertical concrete and aid form carpenters in constructing and assembling concrete forms and wooden frame structures for various concrete formations.; May assist in subgrade work, mixing of concrete or other aggregate mixtures; break up and repair of old concrete surfaces.; Uses various power and hand tools to finish concrete surfaces accurately and efficiently.; Experience with Gomaco & Wirtgen slipform pavers is a plus.; Experience with concrete curb machine preferred.; Interpret basic prints and sketches; work at varying heights and wear full body harness for tie off; ability to work outside in exposure to elements.; All other duties as assigned.
