Lab Technician

The primary role of a lab technician is to facilitate laboratory operations by maintaining laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies. The technician will employ general lab methods, techniques, and equipment in compliance with quality assurance programs and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.

+ Perform sample preparation tasks, including aliquoting samples, spiking and tracing samples, preparing reagents, bottling samples, preparing concentrations, separation, sonication, and liquid rack setup.

+ Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.

+ Prepare general lab paperwork, such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and lab logbooks.

+ Wash lab glassware to prepare for the next day's samples and stock lab supplies.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in laboratory sample preparation.

+ Strong understanding of biology and chemistry.

+ High School Diploma required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate's Degree is a nice-to-have.

+ Experience in quality assurance, microbiology, food chemistry, environmental monitoring, quality control, food safety, and food science.

+ Consistent job tenure of at least 1 year.

+ For new graduates, achievements in school such as extracurricular activities, internships, research, or jobs are desirable.

+ Success seen with individuals from a food service background .

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr.
