+ **10%** - Assisting data scientist in communicating with network participants to access data and facilitate AccelNet connections among database back-ends

Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in any/all of the following: project management, coordination, meeting planning, communications and/or international relations OR high school diploma and 5 years of related experience.
2. Prior experience abroad or in international communication situations (working across languages and/or time zones), as evidenced by application materials.
3. Previous experience using budget, organization and database tools, such as Slack, Zoom, Excel, and basic website management, as evidenced by application materials.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of working experience in any/all of the following: project management, coordination, budgeting, meeting planning, communications and/or international relations.
2. Effective writing and communication skills, including reports and/or science writing, as evidenced by application materials.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Office (including Excel), Google Suite & Analytics, and web development, as evidenced by application materials.
Position Overview:
The Research Project Coordinator will help develop and organize AccelNet components. They will be responsible for creating and updating a database of global AccelNet participants and nodes, as well as organizing and managing all logistical aspects of research exchanges, research colloquia, and follow-on meetings at international conferences. These duties include but are not limited to:
+ coordinating travel arrangements
+ lodging
+ catering
The coordinator will also be responsible for budgeting, reconciling expenses, and processing payments or reimbursements in collaboration with relevant administrative and financial offices. They will receive all applications for these events and summarize them for evaluation by PIs and the steering committee. In addition, the coordinator will disseminate and collate all evaluations and assessments for review and analysis by PIs and the steering committee. Finally, they will develop and update the MICROBENet^Net online community, including Slack channel, Zoom meetings, and website as necessary.
The successful applicant will be hired by the Kansas Biological Survey Center for Ecological Research and based at the University of Kansas. Some degree of travel to project meetings is expected.
