    Job Title: Requirements Management Systems Engineer

     

    Type: Contract

     

    Compensation: $63 - $80 hourly

     

    Contractor Work Model: Remote

     

    System One is seeking a Requirements Management Engineer to support advanced nuclear reactor projects under an agency contract. This remote contract opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineer with a passion for structured systems design, integration, and regulatory compliance.

     

    In this role, you will report directly to the Manager of Natrium Engineering Processes and support the integrated design and analysis of plant systems and structures. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and contractors to implement and optimize requirements management processes across a complex technical landscape.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Assist in the development and implementation of requirements management processes, procedures, and tools.

    + Coordinate with external vendors in defining and implementing plant, system, and component requirements.

    + Facilitate development and maintenance of requirement sets with internal and external design teams.

    + Champion a systems-based approach to requirements management as the project matures.

    + Continuously assess and improve processes and toolsets to enhance efficiency and quality.

    + Perform quality inspections of requirement deliverables, ensuring adherence to standards and providing feedback.

    + Develop and deliver training materials on requirements management tools and processes.

    + Ensure compliance with applicable Quality Assurance programs.

    + Support licensing activities and documentation including Safety Analysis Reports.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.

    + Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in requirements management or systems engineering.

    + Experience implementing requirements management within complex, regulated industrial environments (nuclear or similar).

    + Familiarity with nuclear quality programs (e.g., ASME NQA-1, ISO 9001).

    + Systems Engineering knowledge and experience strongly preferred.

    + Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.

    + Proactive self-starter with the ability to lead and collaborate across disciplines.

    + High degree of integrity and commitment to teamwork and open communication.
