Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee community solar projects throughout Illinois. These projects range from 1-2.5 MW, and the selected individual will play a crucial role in managing on-site operations and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
+ Manage the day-to-day operations and administrative duties on the construction site.
+ Oversee the construction of projects and report progress and safety updates to the Construction Manager.
+ Collaborate with sub-vendors and their foremen to ensure smooth project execution.
+ Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
+ Set daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subcontractors.
+ Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
+ Coordinate deliveries and equipment with the logistics team and subcontractors.
+ Review blueprints, project plans, and specifics daily.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in construction management, preferably in commercial electrical or civil projects.
+ Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or substantial construction management experience.
+ Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
+ Experience managing sub-vendors.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office, including PDF, Word, and Excel.
+ OSHA 10 certification.
+ OSHA 30 certification (training can be provided if needed).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in solar construction.
+ Experience in electrical work or as an electrician.
Work Environment
The work environment is a solar construction site with a company trailer located in central and Northwest Illinois. The role involves working primarily Monday to Friday, with standard construction hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Overtime must be approved by a supervisor and is not common for this role. The dress code is construction attire, including jeans and a t-shirt, with proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
