Description

The Controls Engineer position is responsible for overseeing controls engineering project requirements involving control system & panel design, PLC & HMI programming, instrumentation, and start-up assistance. This position will design electrical layouts and automate APT’s custom products to exceed our customers’ needs. In this role, you will be part of a team that executes projects ranging from $100K – $2M in automation scope while partnering with our Process Engineers to complete overall projects in the $500K- $50M+ range.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering OR Equivalent years of experience in automation.

• 3+ years of experience in custom automation.

• An in-depth understanding of control systems, components, logic programming, experience with instrumentation and controls design, and PLC systems (specifically Rockwell).

• Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to work well with team members, clients, and subcontractors.

• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

• Travel up to 30%.

Preferred:

• Experience with AutoCAD and/or EPlan.

• Experience with Ignition and/or Wonderware.

• Experience within the food and beverage industry.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
