Laboratory Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to assist technical personnel in general laboratory operations and routine laboratory tasks in support of scientific research. The role involves working as part of a team to support the research and development of plant genome editing technologies.
Responsibilities
+ Assist team members in conducting experiments and technical operations.
+ Understand and follow laboratory protocols, completing tasks in a timely fashion.
+ Help formulate work plans and efficiently manage daily workload.
+ Conduct vector construction, E. coli transformation, DNA extraction (plasmid and genomic), and PCR.
+ Ensure proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
+ Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
+ Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Follow company safety policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in routine molecular biology techniques.
+ Experience with vector construction, E. coli transformation, DNA extraction, and PCR.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented approach.
+ Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in biochemistry, biological science, genetics, or a related field.
+ Familiarity with performing routine molecular biology procedures.
Work Environment
Work as part of a team within a laboratory setting, utilizing various technologies and equipment. Ensure adherence to safety policies and protocols. Dress code and attire appropriate for a laboratory environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
