Shipping & Receiving Clerk 1

Job Description:

_Responsible for receiving, storing and distributing materials and equipment. Ensures correct delivery and shipment of materials to internal and external customers._

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Performs work per work instructions

+ Operates hand truck & forklift

+ Unpacks and confirms incoming non-stock receipts checking for correct item, quantity and free of damage

+ Communicates with shipper to rectify shortages/damages

+ Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies

+ Performs all computer functions necessary to track purchase orders

+ Responsible for planning for returns of items to suppliers

+ Responsible for delivery of items to points of use

+ Required to make pick-ups and deliveries using company vehicle

+ Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

+ Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area

+ Practice 5S

+ Preparation of load list to OB, verification of shipment, & create and ship TR for shipment

+ Work with OB team regarding shipments/ incoming trucks through email communication

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as drawings and blueprints

+ Basic math skills

+ Basic computer skills

+ Forklift experience preferred

Education and Experience Requirements

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Experience in material handling preferred
