Job Title: Instrumentation and Controls TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, instrumentation, and plant electrical maintenance. A four-year degree, two-year technical certification, or an associate degree in electronics is preferred, or equivalent experience is required. Experience with Distributed Control System (DCS), Turbine Control System (TCS), or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is necessary, with a preference for those familiar with Emerson Ovation. This role requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
+ Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.
+ Configure programs and maintain plant electrical systems.
+ Understand and work with plant systems and boiler controls.
+ Participate in call-out responsibilities on a rotating weekly basis, including holidays and weekends.
+ Collaborate with a team to ensure plant operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with electronics, instrumentation, and plant electrical maintenance.
+ Proficiency in Distributed Control System (DCS), Turbine Control System (TCS), or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
+ Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities with limited information.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Four-year degree, two-year technical certification, or associate degree in electronics preferred.
+ ABET accredited degree required for Engineer candidates.
+ Emerson Ovation experience preferred.
+ GE system experience is a plus.
Work Environment
The position is based in a power plant environment where safety is paramount. The team consists of four members, and work hours are from 6 AM, with four 10-hour shifts per week. The dress code is casual but requires safety gear, including a hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and earplugs.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
