The Senior APU Manufacturing Planner is responsible for developing and accurately maintaining production schedules for the assigned Autonomous Production Unit (APU). This role involves understanding the workflow within the assigned area to identify, resolve, or escalate risks associated with on-time delivery. The planner will communicate customer order promise delivery dates and planned shipment dates to ensure backlog and financial shipping projections are accurate. Additionally, this position manages the day-to-day movement of products through outside services to meet customer delivery timelines and optimizes manufacturing flow by adjusting MRP scheduling parameters.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain accurate production schedules to meet committed ship dates using appropriate ordering strategies such as MRP and Kanban.
+ Release manufacturing orders, monitor production schedules, and expedite the flow of materials and orders to ensure ship dates are met.
+ Collaborate effectively to resolve current or potential issues and accurately communicate order delivery and shipment dates.
+ Report risks associated with sales revenue and create recommendations for resolution, working collaboratively to deploy risk reduction plans to achieve shipment goals.
+ Collaborate with ABU members to develop tools and procedures to maximize facility and equipment utilization, improve quality, and implement process improvements.
+ Communicate the status of open orders, forecast, or other demand changes to project managers, the master scheduler, and customers.
+ Assist in managing inventory levels by monitoring assigned inventory items to ensure project and division objectives are met.
+ Identify continuous improvement opportunities and support LEAP principles, including deploying alternate and optimized planning methods within ERP or MRP processes.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Planning (ERP).
+ Experience in a precision machine/manufacturing shop environment.
+ Background in ISO/regulated environments.
+ Proficiency in production planning, SAP, ERP systems, schedule planning, and MRP.
+ Experience in medical device manufacturing.
+ Certification in CPIM or APICS.
+ Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a precision machine shop environment.
+ Experience working within an ISO/medical device environment.
+ LEAN/Six Sigma training and demonstrated application.
+ APICS coursework toward CPIM or CIRM certification.
+ Advanced education in Supply Chain or Manufacturing Engineering.
+ Experience in data-based problem identification and resolution.
+ Lean/6Sigma Black Belt with 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
