Marketing Director – Advice & Wealth Management (AWM)
Vanguard has launched a new division focused on Advice & Wealth Management (AWM), reaffirming our commitment to advised and up-market investors. We are seeking a strategic marketing leader to unify and elevate our AWM marketing efforts under a single organization.
In this position, you will be responsible for all AWM marketing activities, including managing a media budget exceeding $20 million. You’ll be responsible for creating a marketing strategy that will be critical to achieving business and client goals. This will include leading cross-functional teams spanning operations, creative, and marketing technology and the development and execution of strategic enablement, events, and sales collateral, ensuring cohesive and effective marketing execution.
You’ll shape the next horizon of marketing strategy for AWM, deepen client relationships, and drive growth through innovative content and product distribution.
In this role, you will:
+ Create and implement a marketing strategy for Advice & Wealth Management to expand distribution, engage and retain clients, and meet business goals with a positive ROI.
+ Act as a strategic advisor to senior management by building relationships, offering insights to guide business direction, and ensuring full accountability for marketing.Hire, evaluate, and supervise crew, with a focus on effective coaching and promoting upskilling and career path building at all levels.
+ Guide matrixed marketing teams with clear strategies and foster collaboration to ensure effective campaign delivery.
+ Provide strategic oversight for B2C spinal functions including channel, operations, creative, marketing technology, and analytics.
+ Lead Personal Investor Marketing’s shift from product-forward to audience-centric marketing strategy to connect growth and engagement campaigns and deliver a cohesive client experience.
+ Manage the marketing budget—including media, FTEs, and infrastructure, and collaborate with teams to optimize spending and adjust strategies as needed.
+ Build and maintain business and partner relationships across the enterprise to extend the impact of marketing through a connected sales funnel.
+ Create and manage operational processes for Product Marketing organization, that enables consistency and effectiveness with which the organization develops and delivers strategies.
+ Develop streamlined models for creation and execution of cross-cutting campaigns that span multiple audiences, offers, and businesses.
+ Transform and scale the Events and Sales Collateral functions within Personal Investor Marketing to better serve evolving business needs and unlock additional value.
+ Support department-wide efforts to improve speed to market, uplevel marketing analytics capabilities and tools, and accelerate personalization at scale
What it takes:
+ 10+ years of marketing experience
+ Outstanding track record with measurable impacts and achievements
+ Ability to develop, execute, and communicate strategic marketing plans that position products effectively in the marketplace and achieve desired business outcomes
+ Strong analytical skills to interpret data and analyze information to make decisions based on market trends, consumer behavior, and campaign performance metrics
+ Provide expert insights and innovative ideas that influence strategic decision-making at aligned business tables, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders
+ Understanding of business model and financials to aid in informing acquisition and retention marketing strategies that support return on marketing investment
+ Knowledge of digital marketing channels, content strategy, brand management, and positioning, with ability to engage the right experts to advance and optimize programs
+ Track record for leading matrixed teams with excellent communication skills and strong ability to positively motivate, influence, and engage crew at all levels
+ Ability to clearly present viewpoints and synthesize information from various sources to deliver compelling insights to business stakeholders.
