Truck Mechanic

Job Description

This position involves fitting, assembling, and installing truck beds and equipment for commercial use. The role requires installing service bodies, platforms, dumps, generators, compressors, hoists, and cranes as per client orders. The tasks will include working with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components and utilizing various hand and power tools, as well as schematics, diagrams, and blueprints based on complexity and experience level.

Responsibilities

+ Fit, assemble, and install truck beds and equipment for commercial use.

+ Install service bodies, platforms, dumps, generators, compressors, hoists, and cranes as per client orders.

+ Work with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components.

+ Utilize various hand and power tools, schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.

+ Troubleshoot, problem solve, and apply creativity to installations.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical aptitude.

+ Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, and assembly.

+ Proficiency in MIG welding.

+ Ability to use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, impact guns, and hydraulic tools.

+ 5+ years of experience in truck equipment installation.

+ 3+ years working with hand/power tools.

+ Direct experience in the truck/trailer industry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with grinders and plasma cutters.

+ Skill in hydraulic pneumatic systems.

+ Ability to perform installation and wiring tasks.

Work Environment

The position is based in an open-air shop environment dedicated to manufacturing and assembly. There is also a yard area for staging and installation of equipment, involving both indoor and outdoor work. The team consists of roughly 10-12 people. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility for overtime as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Stockton, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
