Job Description

Join our team to create, deliver, and support innovative software solutions and services that streamline business operations for transportation agencies. This role primarily involves cabling and kitting, supporting the transportation industry such as bus lines. As an assembler, you will perform various production operator functions including mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, cable assembly, configuration, kitting, testing, packaging, identification, and material handling of products. You will be responsible for completing production processes in accordance with established operating procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.

+ Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete assembly job responsibilities.

+ Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work area.

+ Cross train to other departments as needed.

+ Change out applicators on the cut strip crimp (CSC) machine.

+ Complete tasks independently, working off a work order with minimal assistance.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in cable assembly, wire harness assembly, and electronic assembly.

+ Experience with soldering, kitting, and harness assembly.

+ Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical instructions.

+ Basic math and computer skills.

+ Capability to stand for 8+ hours a day and lift up to 25 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with cable building processes.

Work Environment

Our facility is very clean, climate-controlled, and offers a laid-back atmosphere. You will work primarily from Monday to Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional work on Fridays as needed. This is initially a 6-month contract position with the potential to transition to a permanent role based on performance and workload. Collaboration with both individual and team settings is essential, and adherence to safety protocols, including mask-wearing within 6 feet of coworkers, is required.

This is a Contract position based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
