Job Requisition: REQ3754 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Hiring range: $18.39- $24.59 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities:
•Gathers necessary demographic, insurance and clinical information from patient and enters into appropriate database.
•Seeks appropriate resources to resolve issues about the type, date or location of prescribed procedures.
• Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options and collection procedures to patients and/or parties responsible for payment.
• Counsels’ patients regarding insurance benefits and recommends alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate.
• Helps patients obtain insurance through the marketplace as a Certified Application Counselor (CAC).
• Initiates process for collecting prepays due and performs follow-up to ensure maximum collection is achieved.
• Works with Finance supplying accurate information for reporting purposes.
• Works with billing coders, clinicians, and providers to ensure accurate billing.
• Reviews and processes accounts for collection; reports to Bad Debt Agency.
• Calculates accurate patient responsibility of approved assistance program.
• Assists with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
Additional Responsibilities:
+ Registration duties as needed
+ Other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of experience directly related to payor reimbursement field preferred. Knowledge of third party payors and Federal Poverty Guidelines preferred.
Certifications / Licensure: Facilitated Enrollment Specialist preferred.
