Job Title: Finish Painter

Job Description

We are seeking experienced finish painters with 6-8 years of experience in commercial, new-build construction. Will perform various painting techniques, including doors, frames, hardware, rough-in, finish, drywall, metal framing, drop ceilings, tile work, and floor work. In 2025, you must be willing to travel to projects in the Ozarks, Warrensburg, and Sedalia, with paid lodging, meals, and bonus pay included.

Responsibilities

+ Clean, sand, patch, and prime surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion and a smooth finish.

+ Utilize brushing, rolling, and spraying techniques for both interior and exterior surfaces.

+ Mix paints to achieve precise colors and finishes, including matte, gloss, and textured coatings.

+ Patch holes, smooth seams, and prepare drywall for paint.

+ Apply primers, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings used in commercial construction.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of experience in construction and finishing techniques.

+ Proficiency in using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

+ Knowledge of safety protocols including OSHA standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with primers, sealers, epoxies, and specialty coatings.

+ Experience with hand tools and power tools.

+ Ability to work on small to mid-sized commercial projects.

Work Environment

Work on small to mid-sized commercial projects with teams ranging from 3-10 employees. Join a self-performing team currently consisting of 27 employees, with plans to expand in 2025. Be prepared to work in non-climate-controlled environments. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm, with contractors likely working 42-43 hours a week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr.
