Company Hiring Fire Sprinkler Foreman

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Technician to join our team. This role involves performing onsite troubleshooting and repairs of fire sprinkler systems, identifying code issues and non-conformance issues, and interpreting and applying NFPA 25 codes during testing. The ideal candidate will be willing to become or currently be NICET certified in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems and will preferably have experience in performing Fire Pump Flow Tests.

Responsibilities

+ Troubleshoot and repair fire sprinkler systems.

+ Identify and resolve code issues and non-conformance issues.

+ Interpret and apply NFPA 25 codes during testing.

+ Prepare accurate, detailed, and timely service tickets and reports.

+ Effectively communicate to explain the work being done and any necessary repairs.

+ Perform preventative and routine maintenance as well as emergency service calls.

+ Handle and prepare documentation.

Essential Skills

+ 1 to 3 years of experience with servicing and repair of fire protection sprinkler systems.

+ Ability to work with minimal supervision, paired with experienced technicians.

+ Understanding of all NFPA and local codes including NFPA 13, 13(R), 13(D), 14, 20, 24.

+ Ability to discern deficiencies in the system(s) being serviced.

+ Ability to read blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ NICET certification in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems preferred.

+ OSHA 10 certification preferred.

+ High School/Vocational training is a plus.

+ Working knowledge of fire pumps and underground sprinkler systems.

+ Backflow test and repair certification is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment includes new construction projects throughout NJ, with working hours from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm and a one-hour lunch break. Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times, and you must have all hand tools and physical certifications. Overtime is offered on Saturdays, and double time is provided for Sunday work and on-call assignments, which occur every other month. Holidays are compensated with double time.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newark, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $48.00/hr.
