Job Title: Shop & Field Heavy Equipment Technician

Overview:

Join our team as a Shop & Field Heavy Equipment Technician, where your expertise will keep vital machinery running smoothly. We’re looking for a skilled professional with 2+ years of hands-on experience in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment systems. This role offers a dynamic work environment, competitive weekly pay, and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems on a variety of heavy equipment.

+ Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs efficiently.

+ Service and repair track drive components including sprockets, rails, idler wheels, and hydraulic systems.

+ Maintain and repair speed tandem drive axles with air or electric shift mechanisms.

+ Tune diesel engines, adjust valves, injector heights, and fuel racks for optimal performance.

+ Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble engines, transmissions, and other major components.

+ Perform engine overhauls and component rebuilds as needed.

+ Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

+ Mentor and assist junior technicians in developing mechanical repair skills.

+ Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

+ Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic control systems.

+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Great benefits when going on direct. WPI also has it's own credit union with extremely low interest rates on things like vehicles. Company vehicles when going direct. Family owned company that is very stable and averse to downturns with the amount of infrastructure work going on in South Texas. Great leadership.
