Job Title: Material Handler Forklift

Job Description

As a Material Handler Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the warehouse operations by operating a sit-down forklift and utilizing RF scan guns. You will be responsible for loading and unloading products from trailers, assisting operators with materials, and using the internal shipping system. Additionally, you will inspect inbound and outbound products and act as a team lead within the warehouse, overseeing a team of employees without direct management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

+ Operate a sit-down forklift efficiently and safely.

+ Utilize RF scan guns for inventory management.

+ Load and unload products from trailers in the warehouse.

+ Assist operators with materials as needed.

+ Utilize the internal shipping system when required.

+ Inspect inbound and outbound products for quality assurance.

+ Act as a team lead within the warehouse, overseeing a team of employees.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift with at least 1 year of experience.

+ Experience in a manufacturing or production environment for at least 6 months.

+ Familiarity with RF scanning technology.

+ Strong skills in material handling and warehouse operations.

Work Environment

You will be working in a very clean and temperature-controlled facility that manufactures bottles and caps for products like shampoo, conditioner, and mouthwash. The facility adheres to GMP guidelines, and you will receive the necessary protective equipment such as ear plugs and hair nets. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, long pants, jeans or khakis, and a t-shirt. The position is available for 1st shift from 6am to 2pm and 2nd shift from 2pm to 10pm. Training will be provided on 1st shift for one week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Iowa City, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $19.50/hr.
