    Job Title: Field Mechanic

    Job Description

    The Field Mechanic is responsible for traveling between sites to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, following both manufacturer and company guidelines. This role involves troubleshooting equipment issues, planning and organizing repair procedures, and requesting necessary parts and materials. The Field Mechanic will also complete all required documentation within the CMMS and overhaul gas and diesel engines, as well as other major powertrain components.

    Responsibilities

    + Drive to various sites to perform equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.

    + Follow manufacturer and company guidelines for maintenance and inspections.

    + Troubleshoot equipment issues and report findings to the supervisor.

    + Plan and organize procedures for equipment repairs.

    + Request and order necessary parts and materials.

    + Complete required company, state, and federal documentation within the CMMS.

    + Overhaul gas and diesel engines and other major powertrain components.

    + Fabricate lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices based on blueprints or schematic drawings.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.

    + Proficiency in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.

    + Ability to overhaul gas and diesel engines.

    + Strong understanding of hydraulic systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong communication skills to report work progress and findings.

    + Valid NC driver's license.

    + Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

    + Comfortable working outside, with prolonged periods of bending, standing, or kneeling.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
