ICF’s Transportation Practice specializes in addressing complex planning, policy, and program issues at the nexus of transportation and the environment, energy, and communities. ICF’s work focuses on integrated approaches that support sustainable transportation decisions, addressing mobility, safety, environmental, social, and economic effects of transportation. Our work includes strategic planning, research, policy analysis, outreach, training, and program evaluation for Federal, State, and local governments, including the U.S.

Department of Transportation (DOT), the Transportation Research Board (TRB), State transportation and environmental agencies, and metropolitan planning organizations. Our work often includes evaluating the impacts of infrastructure projects, programs, and government policies; developing guidebooks; and documenting best practices related to integrated planning, transportation operations, and the environment.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead Transportation Engineer responsible for planning, managing, and completing projects and tasks in a dynamic team atmosphere. The successful candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

+ Transportation system management and operations (TSMO) concepts, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Integrated Corridor Management (ICM), and/or Active Transportation and Demand Management (ATDM).

+ Emerging transportation technologies and applications such as connected vehicle deployments, advanced data applications, green energy solutions.

+ Transportation economic analysis, including cost estimates, risk assessment, benefit-cost analysis, and system condition and performance assessment.

The candidate will work directly with clients and senior staff, as well as internal and external experts in their field of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Lead Transportation Engineer who will be capable of fulfilling the following key responsibilities:

+ Contributing to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff.

+ Support Transportation Systems and Operations activities including the development of concept plans and systems engineering documents for deploying intelligent transportation systems.

+ Conduct research and analyze existing transportation technology systems.

+ Interact and communicate with clients and industry deployers.

+ Develop technical reports and industry guidance.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field.

+ 10+ of experience in transportation technology especially in the systems engineering, implementation, operations, and evaluation of ITS and technology.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

+ Master's degree in civil engineering, or related field.

+ Experience conducting transportation projects for Federal, State, and local transportation agencies.

+ Experience effectively managing projects to meet client needs.

+ Experience managing technology-based projects in an Agile environment.

+ Excellent technical and non-technical communication skills.

+ Experience facilitating meetings and engaging partners to share feedback and encourage collaboration.

+ Understands task expectations and how tasks fit in the overall project.

+ Identifies and meets the needs of clients within established guidelines.

**Pay Range** - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$107,936.00 - $183,491.00
