THE POSITION

Washington County office of Children and Youth is seeking a hard-working, forward-thinking professional to join our administration team. Within this role, you will assist in the administration of a county Children and Youth Program with emphasis on child welfare regulations and child safety. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Deputy Administrator, (Children and Youth Administrative Assistant 1) you will plan, review and evaluate the work of County Casework Managers, effectively managing a large professional human services staff to achieve established goals and objectives. This includes assisting in the development and implementation of goals, policies, and procedures for the department. This position coordinates and collaborates with other agencies and the community, participates on statewide committees for planning and program development, and coordinates the agency’s programs with community needs in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. It is essential that you exercise a comprehensive knowledge of child welfare programs and provide administrative and technical direction to staff regarding day-to-day operations and personnel matters. You will have the opportunity to represent the Agency Administrator, as needed, at meetings with the public, the judiciary, and state and local officials concerning the functions and programs of the county children and youth agency.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
+ This position includes working evening and weekend hours.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of experience in the field of public or private social work, including one year working with children and youth in an administrative or supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree;or
+ Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
