    Position: Elementary Literacy Teacher - 1.0 Probationary (Posting number 2526-3441)

    Requirements: Must have NYS Certification as a Birth-grade 6 Literacy Teacher, Literacy Teacher All Grades or K-12 Permanent Reading

    + Candidates must have knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning

    Responsibilities:

    + Provides comprehensive support to elementary students

    + Integrates literacy skills and strategies within the English program, ensuring that all students are able to access text and communicate understanding through writing

    + Maintains accurate and timely student records available for teacher, student or parent reference

    + Demonstrates a deep and rich knowledge of subject area and the ability to convey it to the students

     

    Salary: As per current Webster Teacher Association (WTA) Contract based on experience and education.
