    The IT Project Engineer at Nomad GCS is responsible for designing and implementing network configurations that support a wide range of communication technologies, including voice, data, and surveillance systems. This role requires providing end-user technical support, managing IT engineering-related queries, and contributing to both internal and external technical reviews. Candidates must be able to operate within a schedule-driven environment and handle multiple project timelines efficiently. Essential qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, with a Cisco CCNA certification preferred. The position demands strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of electronic and computer systems, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:

    + Design and implement network configurations across various communication technologies including voice, data, RF, cellular, VSAT, CCTV, and surveillance systems.

    + Provide end-user technical support and write configurations for communications equipment, ensuring project requirements and customer standards are met.

    + Work within a schedule-driven environment, ensuring timely completion of projects as timing is a critical function of each.

    + Conduct project kickoff meetings, participate in IT department meetings, and contribute to External Technical Review (ETR) meetings with customers.

    + Research, analyze, and evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications to ensure alignment with customer needs and industry standards.

    + Design test product development or engineering projects, oversee quality assurance through design reviews and in-house qualifications, and ensure that product development meets all specifications and requirements.

    + Manage IT Engineering related queries, and provide troubleshooting support and technical assistance to Engineering, Sales, and Production departments and end user.

    + Take on additional duties as assigned.

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:

    + Comprehensive understanding of electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software, including applications and programming.

    + Broad knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other proprietary systems relevant to communications technologies.

    + Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    + Regular use of hands and arms to manipulate, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls. Ability to stand and sit for extended periods as required by task assignment.

    + Frequent standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    + Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Assistance required for anything heavier than 50 pounds.

    + Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors, necessary for both office tasks and production work.

    + Must have the physical stamina to adapt to varying workload demands and stand or sit for prolonged periods depending on the specific tasks of the day.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

    + Work is split between a partially environmentally controlled indoor manufacturing area and a professional office setting. Temperatures in the manufacturing area can fluctuate between 60°F and 100°F, typically maintained around 70°F in the office.

    + Exposure to varying noise levels from moderate in the office to loud on the production floor; safety hearing devices provided as needed.

    + Possible exposure to household and commercial chemicals with adherence to safety protocols outlined in Safety Data Sheets (SDS) required. Safety glasses and closed-toed shoes are mandatory when on the production floor.

    + Regular interaction with team members, guests, and clients in a professional setting. Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.

    + Use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators or protective coveralls may be necessary for specific tasks on the production floor.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    + High School Diploma or GED; further education is preferred.

    + Cisco CCNA certification or greater is preferred and may be required within a reasonable time frame.

    + Extensive experience in voice and data networking, and end-user technical support roles.

    + Demonstrated ability to implement new operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

    + Proven track record of positively being team-oriented during team projects and reliable during individual projects and travel.

    + Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to all stakeholders.

    + Experience in drafting technical documentation, BOMs, and maintaining project-specific documentation such as OneNote notebooks and Vizio block diagrams.
