The Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC) at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs seeks to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher with expertise in philanthropy and foundations to work with an interdisciplinary team on the “Frontlines of Democracy Project.” The Frontlines Project is a multi-method, interdisciplinary research effort focused on the global democracy and freedom ecosystem. Specifically, the project investigates the perspectives of philanthropists, foundations, and other funders in terms of how they understand giving and potential investments in democracy and freedom, as well as the perspectives of democracy advocates and activists in terms of barriers, opportunities, and priorities. Through this research, the project team seeks to develop data-driven strategies that strengthen democracy and freedom networks, connect advocates and funders, and direct targeted resources toward critical gaps in the ecosystem.
The postdoctoral researcher position is a one-year (12 month) appointment with the possibility of renewal for up to three years. Review of applications will begin on August 15, 2025, and appointments may begin as early as September 1, 2025.
