    Job Title: Mechanical Design Trainee

     

    The Mechanical Design Trainee will be responsible for developing fabrication HVAC piping/Plumbing drawings for coordination with other disciplines, using AutoCAD and Revit MEP. Fabrication scope will include development of details drawings in accordance with our standards, construction specifications, CAD standards and industry wide detailing practices.

     

    Must be organized, efficient and work well with the design team.

    Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

    Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Ability to learn how to complete Layout Revit 3D views, sheets or drawings.

    + Ability to learn how to create Revit templates.

    + Ability to learn how to develop Revit schedules of components, parts and bill of material.

    + Ability to learn how to organize (spool) pipe for fabrication.

    + Ability to learn how to create shop drawings for field installation.

    + Ability to take verbal direction and/or sketches or surveys to product an acceptable work product with minimal supervision.

    + Ability to learn how to read and understand complex construction documents.

    Education / Work Experience:

    + High school diploma or GED required.

    + Associate or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering a plus.

    + Experience in Mechanical and Plumbing System Design/Drafting a plus.

    + AutoCAD and Revit MEP experience and experience in current AutoCAD software a plus.

    + Knowledge of Revit Grouping components into assemblies, families and libraries of 3D content.

    + Previous construction company experience with industrial, health care, public construction and commercial projects a plus.

    + Field experience a plus.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Required

    + High School or better

    Preferred

    + Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering

    + Associates or better in Mechanical Engineering

    Experience

    Required

    + 2 years: AutoCAD experience.

    + 2 years: Revit MEP experience.

    + High mechanical interest.

    + Experience in Mechanical and Plumbing System Design/Drafting
