    Description

    As a member of the North America Region Corporate Affairs and Communications team, this role plays a critical role in the management of regional external/internal communications, issues management and risk mitigation, and platforms that support the Company's global brand and regional strategy.

    Corporate External/Media Relations:

    + Oversees key external regional corporate strategies and communications including media interviews, speaking engagements, press releases, executive communications, digital content and other materials to enhance and protect ELC's reputation

    + Works with VP, Corporate Affairs and Communications, Americas and External Global Communications to proactively develop and communicate corporate stories which enhance and reinforce ELC's Enterprise Brand

    + Ensures that the Company's enterprise⁃wide messages are effectively communicated and NA audiences are meaningfully engaged

    + Develops and supports regional corporate stakeholder engagement opportunities Risk Mitigation and Issues/Crisis Management

    + Contributes to issues management teams for region, helping to manage day to day issues and represent the function in regional issues working groups

    + Proactively identifies, maps and pre⁃empts issues and protects and advances corporate and brand reputation

    + Builds strong collaborative relationships with key internal functions including legal, regulatory, HR, Public Affairs and other corporate stakeholders and business leaders at all levels

    Internal Communications:

    + Leads creation and execution of multi⁃channel regional internal communications strategies that drive employee engagement, shape our ELC North America culture, and ensures a clear line of sight/understanding throughout all stakeholders of the region's strategy, goals and objectives

    + Contributes to shaping a 'one team' culture where multi⁃way communication, engagement, and collaboration is seen as fundamental and integral to the success of the organization and its staff. Creates and delivers campaigns for culture initiatives and commissions relevant programs and content

    + Oversees the day⁃to⁃day development and execution of regional internal communications, including executive communications, organizational communications, employee communications/engagement

    + Works collaboratively with the team to facilitate planning for North America townhalls, webcasts and other large⁃scale employee meetings/engagement events

    + Collaborates on regional corporate citizenship programs, initiatives and communications as needed

    + Ensures ongoing measurement of communications, engagement and success, and adapts strategies/tactics as needed

    + Demonstrates agility and flexibility to work on/lead ad hoc projects across other areas of the NA Corporate Affairs and Communications team, as needs frequentlyarise in this fast pace environment

    Qualifications

    + 15+ years experience working within corporate affairs/corporate communications role, leading, developing and executing end⁃to⁃end external and internal strategies

    + Ability to function effectively with rapidly changing priorities and demands and to remain calm under pressure

    + Extensive corporate external communications experience with an active network of resources and media relationships

    + Strong strategist and self⁃starter who is an innovative, creative⁃thinker with proven ability to create extraordinary strategic plans, communications and campaigns that drive engagement, results, understanding and change where needed

    + Demonstrated strong experience proactively mapping, mitigating and leading issues/crises management in a corporate business environment

    + Adept at managing relationships at senior leader level, and ability to influence and build strong relationships with direct reports, peers and stakeholders at all levels

    + Superb writer, with a demonstrated ability to build strategies and distill complex content into clear, concise and engaging communications, with speed and accuracy

    + Experience blending traditional internal communications tactics with new media, including enterprise collaboration and online platforms

    + Strong storyteller with the ability to create compelling narratives in support of our business strategies, and excellent presentation skills

    + Tenacious and able to see ideas through to execution

    + Capable of taking on a varied degree of tasks and responsibilities, from leadership to hands⁃on content creation/editing

    + Able to handle highly confidential information with sensitivity, integrity and good judgement

    + Bachelor's Degree (Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Journalism preferred)
