    GCI's Contract Risk & Operations Analyst will be responsible for supporting the efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation efforts across the contract lifecycle. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining operational processes, evaluating contractual risk, ensuring alignment between contract deliverables and business needs, and supporting continuous process improvement. The Analyst acts as a cross-functional liaison to promote compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence in contract workflows.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS:

    Contract Lifecycle Optimization:

    + Support the development, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of standardized operational processes, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance.

    + Maintain accurate, real-time records of contract status, approvals, amendments, and associated documentation within designated contract management systems.

     

    Contract Review & Risk Assessment

     

    + Review and analyze contract terms and conditions to identify potential operational, financial, or compliance risks; escalate issues as appropriate and support the implementation of mitigation strategies.

    + Evaluate third-party and vendor contracts to assess exposure to operational and financial risks and recommend appropriate risk controls.

    + Ensure incorporation of risk mitigation language and operational controls into contracts, aligned with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

    + Process Certificate of Insurance requests.

     

    Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment

     

    + Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, and Business Units to align contract terms with operational capabilities, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.

    + Serve as a liaison between internal teams to resolve discrepancies, clarify contract deliverables, and facilitate smooth execution of contractual obligations.

     

    Monitoring & Compliance

     

    + Track and monitor key contractual obligations, performance milestones, and service-level requirements to ensure timely compliance and execution of deliverables.

    + Support internal audits, operational reviews, and regulatory assessments by preparing and presenting relevant documentation, data, and analysis of contract practices.

     

    Performance Reporting & Continuous Improvement

     

    + Analyze and report on operational and contract-related metrics, workflow performance, and process bottlenecks; provide actionable insights to drive efficiency.

    + Recommend and support implementation of improvements to contract operations and risk management practices, with an emphasis on enhancing control, transparency, and accountability.

    + Remain informed of legal, regulatory, and industry developments that may affect contract operations, vendor oversight, or enterprise risk exposure, and proactively adjust processes as needed.

    + Ability to accurately communicate information virtually (i.e., Teams), over the phone, and in-person in a clear and concise manner to a range of audiences.

    + Ability to accurately read, write, and respond to business correspondence such as emails, chat messages, policies, procedures, reports.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of high-level complex concepts, practices, procedures, and data analysis.

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex challenging problems and situations leading to optimal solutions.

The position involves performing moderately complex tasks with minimal oversight of routine responsibilities and general guidance for new or unique assignments. Operating under moderate supervision, the individual is expected to exercise sound judgment and a degree of independence in day-to-day decision-making.

     

    The Contract Risk & Operations Analyst plays a key role in advancing operational efficiency and ensuring consistency throughout the contract lifecycle. This role is responsible for aligning contract deliverables with broader organizational goals, evaluating contract terms for potential operational and financial risk, and maintaining robust process controls.

     

    Acting as a cross-functional liaison, the analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders to facilitate contract compliance, streamline workflows, and support the successful execution of contractual obligations. The position also contributes to continuous process improvement by promoting the adoption of standardized practices and driving enhancements in contract operations and risk mitigation.

    Essential Duties:

    + Support the full operational contract lifecycle, ensuring timely and consistent execution of processes and documentation.

    + Assist in the development and maintenance of standardized contract templates, process guides, and risk assessment frameworks.

    + Review contract language to identify operational and compliance risks, escalating concerns as needed.

    + Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and business units to ensure contract terms align with organizational needs and obligations.

    + Track contract performance milestones, obligations, and deadlines, ensuring internal accountability.

    + Maintain accurate contract records, metrics, and dashboards to support reporting and audit readiness.

    + Participate in audits and operational reviews, providing documentation and contract analysis as requested.

    + Monitor industry and regulatory developments that may impact contract operations or risk and propose corresponding updates to processes.

    Additional Competencies:

    + Strong knowledge of contract management principles, operational risk, and third-party oversight practices.

    + Demonstrated experience in reviewing and interpreting complex contract language for operational and financial risk.

    + Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and compliance tracking.

    + Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

    + Proficient in tracking and analyzing performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

    + Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools and related systems.

    + Adaptable and proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to navigate evolving business and regulatory landscapes.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Required: *A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis

     

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Risk Management, or related field. *

    + Minimum of five (5) years of contract management, legal operations, compliance, risk analysis or relevant experience. *

    Preferred:

    + Advanced degree or certification (e.g., JD, MBA, IACCM, CRCM).

    + Telecommunications experience.

    + Relevant telecom industry or job specific certifications.

    DRIVING REQUIREMENTS:

    + This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + Work is primarily sedentary, requiring daily routine computer usage.

    + Ability to work shifts as assigned, work in standard office/home office setting, and operate standard office equipment.

    + Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas to others effectively.

    + Physical agility and effort sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively.

    + Ability to make valid judgments and decisions.

    + Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary.

    + Must work well in a team environment and be able to work with a diverse group of people and customers.

    + Virtual workers must comply with remote work policies and agreements.

     

    The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to Alaskans and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the core business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. As such, you will be requested to provide emergency after-hour contact numbers, to include your home and cell phone numbers if you have those services.
