    Position Summary:

    The Shipping Supervisor, 1st Shift is responsible for leading a team to achieve the highest level of safety, quality, performance, and engagement. Much of the position involves motivating, mentoring, and coaching. To achieve this, the Shipping Supervisor provides their associates with the tools they need for success as well as drive productivity and efficiency through data-driven decisions and analytical problem-solving. The person in this position needs to be comfortable with analytics and using data to provide thought-provoking and workable solutions. Area Managers typically volunteer to lead projects and help the team achieve goals.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Lead and develop a team.

    + Build and execute productivity plans, review work forecasts, determine productivity requirements.

    + Communicate policies to crew members and act as the primary information source for the team, maintain compliance and consistency and take corrective action as needed.

    + Support safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe working environment.

    + Develop performance goals and objectives to achieve customer expectations while ensuring accuracy and quality.

    + Partner with the management team to establish and maintain quality control standards.

    + Responsible for strategic shift and labor planning for department.

    + Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.

    + Ensure procedures are followed for building security and product loss prevention.

    + Create, manage, and support recognition and communication programs.

    Job Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.

    + 3 years of management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.

    + Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Track record of taking ownership and driving results.
