Job Summary
The AKM Specialist within the Asset Knowledge Management (AKM) organization will support operational and technical functions. The AKM Specialist will support the GIS Technicians, leadership team, and business partners in designated responsibilities NiSource. The AKM Specialist will be responsible for communicating with business partners, supporting training, implementing and participating in quality assurance practices, leading initiatives, and participating in best practice sharing. Primary focuses of the AKM Specialist include compliance with Gas and electric Standards, company policies, and departmental policy; creating and facilitating training for stakeholders; and providing technical support for internal business partners involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of company facilities. The Specialist will implement and maintain internal quality assurance and quality control practices, while focusing on supporting key company systems data and records.

Provide logistical support or participation in GIS training
AKM project involvement

Essential Functions
+ Support data QA/QC practices and process improvement.
+ Ensure completion documentation meets proposed designs and complies with Standards, local practices, and applicable codes.
+ Provide support and project/ program management to internal and external business partners to achieve department and company goals.
+ Provide training within organization and to business partners on technical focus areas.
+ Lead initiative and best practice identification, development, and implementation within the department and with cross-functional business partners.
+ Fulfill data requests for leadership and business partners as needed.
+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert within the program by providing input into Standards, process improvement projects, workflow mapping, and providing data analysis.
+ Build strong relationships with business partners and collaborate on process improvements.
+ Be self-supervising with the ability to work independently and thrive in a geographically dispersed organization.
+ Assist in department financial processes to meet company initiatives and goals.
+ Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications For Position
+ Three years natural gas experience.
+ Proven knowledge of WMS, GIS, WMSDocs, and Gas Standards.
+ Proven knowledge of the design capital job order lifecycle and close-out process.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of various PC applications and software (i.e. Word, Excel)
+ Strong cross-functional presence with internal business partners.
+ Proven history of providing training and presentations remotely or in person.
+ Knowledge of current field construction practices.
+ Contribution to team success through personal and team efforts.
+ Uphold the distinguished reputation of the organization by making solid business decisions in regards to the corporate budget, the timely completion of employee requirements, expense reporting, and displaying office-appropriate mannerisms.
+ Proficiency in corporate digital mapping/GIS software (i.e. ESRI, ArcFM, AutoCAD).
+ Demonstrated knowledge of the capital job order life cycle from OP to EX, including job order type uses and complexities.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of gas operations practices and standards.
+ Working knowledge of support systems WMS, DIS, PowerPlant, OpenText.
+ Demonstrated ability to query and analyze GIS data.
+ Proven history of creating and delivering training and presentation experience both remotely and in person.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of various PC applications and software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
+ Ability to run and utilize Cognos reporting features.
Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position
+ Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or GIS related discipline.
+ Five years natural gas experience.
+ Three years’ experience in the Capital Close-Out organization.

Salary Range*:
$67,900.00 - $101,900.00
