Job Summary
Arapahoe Community College is seeking a full-time Training Specialist for Organizational Development to lead professional development efforts that foster a supportive and empowering environment for all employees. This position designs, delivers, and evaluates training programs that build awareness and empathy in working with those for whom community colleges were created to serve—historically marginalized populations, low-income individuals, and returning adult learners. Through collaboration across departments, the specialist helps increase organizational capacity to implement effective, inclusive processes, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and strengthen a campus culture rooted in respect, care, and a shared commitment to belonging and growth.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver engaging training that encourages growth, and belonging.
+ Lead employee engagement efforts that promote inclusivity and representation.
+ Evaluate programs using data and feedback to drive improvement.
+ Manage training logistics including scheduling, communication, and compliance.
+ Drive organizational development by implementing culture-focused strategies.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management, Training, Organizational Development, Adult Education, Instructional Design or related. Equivalent professional experience, year for year, may substitute for the degree.
+ 2 years professional experience leading organizational development, training, or adult education aimed at enhancing participants’ capacity and skill to understand diverse perspectives and experiences, foster empathy, support personal growth, and promote a sense of inclusion and belonging for all.
+ A master’s degree in a training/learning and development area of study will substitute for the required experience.
+ Experience designing, developing, and/or delivering various training and development activities aligned to an organization’s vision, mission, and guiding principles/values.
+ Highly proficient facilitation and presentation skills; able to engage a variety of audiences on a variety of topics.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Management, Training, Organization Development, Counseling, Adult Education, Instructional Design or related.
+ Previous role in Learning and Development role in higher education industry, with focus on organizational culture, employee engagement and belonging.
