Locations: Valhalla, NY & Mamaroneck, NY Hours: M-F, 8:30 AM – 4.30 PM The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Westchester Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Family Planning Medical Assistant to join our Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery & Complex Family Planning. This is an employed position with comprehensive benefits. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about providing all aspects of reproductive healthcare, including abortion care. Job Responsibilities

+ Clinical functions such as patient rooming, intake, vital signs, venipuncture, medical charting, assisting clinicians during exams and procedures

+ In coordination with licensed staff, provides patient follow-up on lab results and referrals

+ Provides pregnancy testing, information and referral, schedules patients for follow-up appointments

+ Basic office functions such as stocking supplies, billing and coding, routine insurance data entry

+ Cleaning and maintaining medical equipment and supplies, including sterilization of reusable materials

Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Medical Assistant Certification

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

+ Ability to embrace a fast-paced and dynamic environment where daily responsibilities could change frequently

+ Experience with electronic medical record system (Cerner preferred but not required)

+ Experience in obstetrics & gynecology clinical setting

+ Experience in abortion clinic or other setting in which contraception and abortion services are provided is preferred but not required

+ Bilingual English / Spanish preferred but not required as long as willing to use telephone interpreter
