Compensation:
The wage range listed represents the potential compensation opportunities for this position. Starting salary will be thoughtfully determined by the hiring manager based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, education, relevant skills, and qualifications brought to the role. The initial offer could be any amount within the posted range, reflecting Epsilon's commitment to fair and competitive compensation.

This fully remote opportunity allows you the flexibility to work from home in support of the USDA DISC’s location in Kansas City, MO.
**Our Customer’s Mission** :
The USDA Digital Infrastructure Services Center (DISC) operates 24/7/365 to provide comprehensive on premises and cloud-based hosting services, including Disaster Recovery, security, and professional support services and operations to approximately 35 federal organizations. The USDA and other Federal partners depend upon DISC’s highly complex and interconnected technology infrastructure to conduct their operations. To better support this mission, DISC is modernizing their technology by transitioning to a continuous integration, deployment, and code-based organization.
An average day:
As Full-Stack Developer III, you will apply an automation and orchestration mindset to support the development and enhancement of a mission-critical self-service portal. This role is responsible for both front-end UI/UX development and back-end integration with operational tools and enterprise systems. The Full-Stack Developer will demonstrate strong technical depth across multiple programming languages and frameworks, along with the ability to understand business needs and deliver intuitive, scalable solutions. This position requires hands-on development across modern technologies, with particular emphasis on JavaScript, Ruby, Java, Cassandra, and React. A successful candidate will have experience troubleshooting complex workflows, building REST APIs (particularly in JRuby), and working collaboratively with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement business process improvements. In this position you will:
+ Develop, enhance, and maintain full stack components of a modern self-service portal supporting infrastructure automation
+ Collaborate with service lines and business stakeholders to design and implement user-centric solutions
+ Participate in requirements gathering, design reviews, code reviews, and post-implementation support
+ Design and build front-end UI/UX features using JavaScript, React, CSS, and XHTML
+ Implement back-end services and APIs using Ruby (JRuby preferred), Java, and integration with Cassandra and PostgreSQL
+ Troubleshoot and optimize REST APIs, including creation and support of reusable service integrations
+ Analyze and troubleshoot complex business workflows across front-end and back-end systems
+ Document process flows, system changes, and technical architecture
+ Research and apply modern development best practices and standards across platforms
+ Contribute to process automation and orchestration efforts across IT service management environments
Basic Qualifications:
+ As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.
+ Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or equivalent work experience.
+ Minimum 5 years of full stack development experience, preferably within a complex enterprise IT environment
+ Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, including dynamic, event-driven front-end development
+ Demonstrated ability to gather and translate customer or stakeholder requirements into actionable technical features
+ Proficient in Ruby, with specific experience using JRuby
+ Experience leading or contributing to business process improvement and application modernization efforts
+ Solid understanding of Java for backend service development and integration
+ Strong written communication skills with the ability to document complex technical designs and user workflows
+ Experience working with Cassandra, including schema design, query optimization, and integration into scalable applications
+ Hands-on experience with React, including the design of reusable, component-based front-end interfaces
+ Working knowledge of PostgreSQL for backend data persistence and relational query optimization
+ Familiarity with HTML, CSS, jQuery, and PHP in support of legacy or hybrid application stacks
+ Experience using GIT for version control and collaborative development workflows
+ Proven ability to develop or improve automated workflows in support of infrastructure or ITSM service delivery
+ Comfortable working in agile or iterative development environments, both independently and within small, cross-functional teams
+ Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity and shifting priorities
+ Experience working within environments characterized by organizational change or technical ambiguity.

+ Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust. ( _This is a federal contract position and requires candidates to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust. Adjudication of the required Security Clearance or Public Trust is determined solely by the government. If the government determines that the candidate cannot obtain and/or maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance or Public Trust, Epsilon will be unable to place the candidate in this position.)_
