    Job Summary

    We are adding a Lead Facilitator position to Telling It's primary staff team. We are looking for candidates who want to work in a lively environment with a program that supports social emotional learning using creative nontraditional practices. You will plan and lead weekly program sessions at community sites and ensure facilitation approaches across all program sites are consistent. You will report to the Telling It Director.

    Telling It is a community-based expressive arts program that creates safe, judgment-free spaces using trauma-informed and culturally sensitive methods to foster emotional processing and personal empowerment. We partner with community sites in Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor to offer weekly programs for youth and adults. Telling It is a program in the LSA Residential College.     Responsibilities*

    + Develop and facilitate trauma-informed expressive arts-based sessions for youth at multiple sites.

    + Review the facilitation approaches across all Telling It sites, ensuring a the same approach is used across locations and facilitation teams.

    + Train and oversee a team of staff, college interns and volunteers.

    + Maintain community partner relationships and oversee program site logistics.

    + Participate in staff and intern training sessions as a member of the training team

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in music or other arts education-related field.

    + 3+ years of experience in arts-based practices with youth.

    + 3+ years of experience building professional relationships.

    + 1+ years of experience leading teams.

    + Success working across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, gender identity and ability.

    + Familiarity with office software.

     

    Modes of Work

     

    Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.     Additional Information

    + This is a term-limited position, ending on 8/31/26, with possibility for renewal depending on funding.

    + This position includes a seasonal leave in July.

    + The salary range for this half-time position is $23,900 to $29,900 (full time annual rate of $47,800 to $59,800) annually. A higher salary is possible based on equity and experience.

    + Hybrid work schedule, with most work performed on-site at Telling It programs. Wednesdays are required on-campus work days. Some work from home days are possible.
