The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for a **Program Operations Specialist** **WORK SCHEDULE**
+ 40 hours per week
+ Day Shift: Monday-Friday, flexible hours between 7:30am-4:30pm

+ Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years of experience in progressively responsible experience in administrative process.
+ Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute. **ADDITIONAL POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
+ A track record of successfully managing multiple projects and delivering projects on schedule.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a variety of audiences. Ability to lead meetings, give presentations; work with facts and ability to tell a story with numbers.
+ Demonstrated success in building and sustaining positive customer and other relationships.
+ Commitment to working within an organizational framework of continuous process improvement.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** The Program Operations Specialist holds a strategic leadership role in overseeing and executing core fiscal operations within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP). This position is directly responsible for managing and driving critical purchasing functions, including the review and approval of invoices, requisitions, and reimbursements across the Shared Environment, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and fiscal accountability.In addition to operational leadership, the Program Operations Specialist plays a central role in advancing DLMP’s purchasing consolidation efforts. This includes: Leading the comprehensive cleanup and optimization of Purchase Path to unify budgeting structures and streamline procurement workflows. Designing, implementing, and maintaining fiscal-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support scalable and compliant processes. Serving as the accountable lead for Workday implementation projects related to invoicing, payments, and administrative operations. Directing the onboarding of new departments into the centralized purchasing model, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with fiscal policies. Identifying, analyzing, and sustaining process improvements tied to budget management and invoice lifecycle oversight, in collaboration with the Fiscal Manager.Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Purchasing, this role functions as a high-level facilitator and strategic advisor—proactively identifying operational trends, resolving cross-functional issues, and driving continuous improvement across a wide range of fiscal and administrative domains. **ABOUT US** A regional resource for clinical laboratory services required for innovative patient care, research and educational programs, the Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology combines the sophisticated testing and informatics capabilities of fully accredited laboratories with the resources of an academic institution in its delivery of clinical and anatomic pathology services.
