The Rubrik information Technology team influences business processes, employee experience, and technologies to scale our organization to $1B+. This team creates operational efficiency across the company by centralizing the management of Infrastructure, Technology, and Data. The IT team ensures all stages of the software development lifecycle in a secured environment and scrutinizes the deployment of proper processes and governance. They champion Rubrik on Rubrik and are the first customers of the Engineering teams at Rubrik.
Rubrik IT is constructed of 100% SaaS and 0% on-premises. The IT team caters to accelerated business value enhancement and multiple day-to-day business processes through our varied SaaS applications like Salesforce.com, Oracle Netsuite, Workday, Snowflake, Etrade, MulSoft, etc. This team also delivers high-paced business outcomes with 100% system uptime backed by agile, nimble, simple, but cohesive Cloud architectures
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly qualified, experienced and strategic Senior Manager, People Technology to spearhead the end-to-end design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our critical People Technology systems. This role, based in our Palo Alto office and reporting directly to the Director of G&A Application, is pivotal. You'll be optimizing our HR technology landscape, ensuring seamless integration, efficiency, a world-class employee experience, and robust compliance with regulatory requirements.
As our Senior Manager, People Technology, you'll take comprehensive ownership of our People Technology stack, including **Workday, Greenhouse ATS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Payroll, Equity, and intranet platforms** . You'll be a key partner to our Payroll, Equity, IT, HCM, and People Teams, translating business needs into scalable and effective technology solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands a blend of technical expertise, project management acumen, and a deep understanding of HR processes, **with a strong emphasis on data integrity, security, SOX compliance, and the exploration of AI-driven solutions.** A critical aspect of this role is **leading and nurturing People Technology teams across both our US and India locations** . You'll foster a collaborative, high-performing environment, ensuring alignment and seamless execution regardless of geographical boundaries.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership:
+ Develop and execute the long-term People Technology roadmap, aligning with overall business objectives and People Team strategies. Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and system optimization, including the evaluation and implementation of AI solutions to enhance HR processes.
System Ownership & Management:
+ Oversee the full lifecycle management of **Workday** , ensuring optimal configuration, module utilization (HCM, Benefits, Absence, Performance, etc.), and ongoing enhancements.
+ Lead the administration and optimization of **Greenhouse ATS** , ensuring efficient recruitment workflows and a positive candidate experience.
+ Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of **Learning Management Systems (LMS)** to support employee development and training initiatives.
+ Partner closely with Payroll and Equity teams to ensure accurate and compliant system configuration and data flow for payroll processing and equity administration.
+ Oversee the functionality and continuous improvement of intranet platforms related to People functions, ensuring easy access to information and resources.
Project Management:
+ Lead complex People Technology projects from initiation to closure, including system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and new module deployments. Develop detailed project plans, manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Stakeholder Partnership:
+ Collaborate extensively with Payroll, Equity, IT, HCM, and People Teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and provide expert guidance on technology solutions.
+ Act as the primary liaison between People teams and IT for all People Technology-related matters.
+ Communicate project status, challenges, and successes to all relevant stakeholders.
System Design & Development:
+ Translate business requirements into technical specifications and lead the design, configuration, and testing of People Technology solutions. Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all systems.
Maintenance & Support:
+ Establish and manage a robust support model for all People Technology systems, including troubleshooting, bug fixes, and ongoing maintenance. Ensure system stability, performance, and user satisfaction.
Vendor Management:
+ Manage relationships with People Technology vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met and maximizing value from vendor partnerships.
Data & Analytics:
+ Partner with stakeholders to leverage People Technology data for reporting, analytics, and informed decision-making. Ensure data accuracy and accessibility for various HR metrics and insights.
Compliance & Security:
+ Ensure all People Technology systems and processes adhere to SOX compliance requirements and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
+ Implement and manage data security best practices, including data scrambling, masking, and other anonymization techniques for sensitive information.
+ Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard HR data integrity and confidentiality.
AI Solutions Exploration:
+ Actively explore and evaluate **artificial intelligence (AI) solutions and machine learning (ML)** applications to enhance People Technology functionalities, improve HR operational efficiency, and provide predictive insights (e.g., in talent acquisition, employee retention, or personalized learning).
People Management & Development:
+ Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of People Technology specialists located in both the US and India.
+ Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing across geographically dispersed teams.
+ Conduct performance reviews, set clear objectives, and support the professional growth of team members in both regions.
+ Ensure consistent standards, processes, and best practices are adopted across the global team.
Experience** **You’ll Need:
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
+ 8+ years of experience in People Technology roles, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
+ Extensive hands-on experience with Workday is essential, including deep knowledge of HCM, Benefits, Absence, and at least one other module (e.g., Compensation, Performance, Recruiting).
+ Proven experience managing Greenhouse ATS and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
+ Strong understanding of Payroll and Equity processes and their technological implications.
+ Demonstrated experience with intranet platforms and their application in HR contexts.
+ Solid understanding of HR processes and best practices across the employee lifecycle.
+ Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex People Technology projects.
+ Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
+ Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
+ Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language and vice-versa.
+ Demonstrated experience with SOX compliance and other regulatory requirements related to HR data.
+ Familiarity with data security principles, including data scrambling, masking, and anonymization techniques.
+ Curiosity and foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and their potential applications in HR.
+ Proven experience managing and developing teams, ideally across different geographical locations (US and India).
+ Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is highly desirable.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Workday certifications (e.g., Workday HCM, Workday Integrations).
+ Experience with system integrations and APIs.
+ Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
+ Hands-on experience implementing or working with AI-driven HR solutions.

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
