General Description
This is a highly responsible role with a strong focus on project management involving successful planning, execution, and completion of projects across various departments. The Special Projects Supervisor will coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors, manage timelines and budgets, and ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Public Works Director/Assistant Director.
Essential Job Functions
+ Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.
+ Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
+ Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.
+ Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting plans as necessary.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
+ Identify and manage project risks, issues, and changes to ensure successful outcomes.
+ Ensure quality standards and compliance with company policies and external regulations.
+ Document project progress, lessons learned, and best practices for future initiatives.
+ Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications, Licenses and Certifications
+ Must be eighteen years of age or older.
+ Bachelor’s degree in business or project management; or
+ Project management certification; and
+ Two (2) years’ experience in a project coordination or management role; or
+ An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities and Environmental Conditions
+ Ability to coordinate multiple teams and resources within the project scope.
+ Experience with budgeting and financial reporting within a project scope.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Must be proficient in the use of computers, tablets, and smart phones (MS Office, electronic communications, email, text, etc.).
+ Must be self-motivated and able to accomplish tasks. You must complete your routine maintenance activities each week/month and fill out proper documentation.
+ Must have a safety conscious attitude. The employee is expected to always use safe work practices and follow safety policies. Report on the job hazards.
+ Must have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
+ Must have ability to follow complex written and oral instructions; as well as ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and inwriting.
+ Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and organizational skills in problem solving.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS
+ Valid Florida Driver License.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS
+ Acceptable eyesight (with or without corrections).
+ Acceptable hearing (with or without aid).
+ Climbing, walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling.
+ Communication orally and inwriting.
+ Ability to frequently change in activities.
+ Grasping, touching small tools and equipment.
+ Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects ranging light to heavy weight (5-50 pounds).

ENVIRONMENTALCONDITIONS
Work is performed in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors with moderate noise levels and is subject to outside environmental conditions. Work performed in pumpstations could be performed in a confined space.
