Job Description: EDM Machinist 2nd Shift
Company Overview:
Moeller Aerospace is a precision manufacturing facility specializing in machined parts for the gas turbine aircraft engine and power generation industries. Our main headquarters is located in Wixom, Michigan and is responsible for all customer support including design, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer shipments.
Position Overview:
We have an opening for an experienced EDM Machinist to add to our team. Acclimation training may require up to ninety days on the first shift to become familiar with our processes and procedures, hourly rate is based on experience. We are seeking a team player with a focus on continuous improvement opportunities. Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems, advanced quality assurance techniques, and/or aerospace experience would be a definite asset. Other duties may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform setups and/or operate multiple EDM machines
+ Measure parts and monitor tolerances throughout production process, troubleshoot and make machine adjustments as necessary
+ Maintain safe working operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
+ Promote continuous improvement to quality and productivity within department
+ Utilize team work approach to achieve satisfactory results and promote a positive "can do" attitude
Skills and Knowledge:
+ Three years of previous experience is required
+ Ability to interpret complex blueprints and work instructions
+ Comfortable working with tolerances as close as +/-.0005"
+ Ability to machine, measure and perform in process and final quality inspections
+ Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
+ Working knowledge and application of shop practice, specifications, and procedures
