Job Description
SUMMARY & SCOPE: Responsible for the machining of components for the use on ASME code, and non-code pressure vessels and other manufactured products. Must be able to run the required machines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift on all cranes and tools and document this as necessary. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.
- Be able to read, understand and interpret blueprints and job routings.
- Record required information on proper forms relating to machining practices where required.
- Proper operate and interpret various measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, gauges, ect.)
- Be able to sharpen drills, taps, and maintain tooling relating to various machining practices.
- Be able to inspect machined surfaces for discontinuities and effects by Mag Particle inspection. Successfully complete mag particle certification.
- Material handling - operation of cranes, and hoist when necessary. Also successfully complete any training/safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.
- Preforms housekeeping and other related duties.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- CNC Machining Equipment.
- Manual drill press.
- All pneumatic tools available to shop employees.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work well in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers.
- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
- Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
