Spang Power Electronics, a manufacturer of power control and conversion equipment, has a position available for an Electrical Assembly Technician at its Mentor, OH facility. We design and manufacture a broad range of products for industrial control applications including: SCR power controllers; AC & DC power systems; Dry-type transformers; Specialty AC & DC drives; AC & DC drive systems; and Automation control systems.
The position will be responsible for assembling and wiring electronic components from drawings, schematics, specification sheets, and manuals. The Electrical Assembly Technician will also be responsible for the assembly and repair of SPE Products and Systems.
Major Responsibilities:
+ Build and maintain test fixtures.
+ Prepare electronic components for assembly.
+ Solder and desolder electronic components.
+ Assemble and wire power control units, check continuity.
+ Repair or replace defective components or sub-assemblies as required.
+ Track incoming/outgoing repaired equipment in applicable repair log.
+ Notify Customer Service of repair estimate if required, actual cost and delivery.
+ Prioritize repairs to meet and balance customer requirements.
Qualifications include an Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or one year of relevant experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Prefer 2-5 years' experience in the assembly of electrical and mechanical equipment, primarily into Product and System configurations, as well as in the testing of products using standard test procedures. The ability to lift 25 to 75 pounds is required. PLC knowledge and hands-on AC/DC power supply experience is a plus.
