Position: Painter

Department: Pant Services & Engineering

Shift: 7AM-3:30PM/ Weekends & Holidays

Status: Full-time/ 80 hours per pay period

Facility: Atrium Medical Center

Painter will report to the Manager – Plant Services & Engineering, and Materials Management. Performs painting, wall covering and associated services at Atrium Medical Center. Performs basic maintenance services.

Education

**Minimum Level of Education Required:** High School completion / GED

Experience

**Minimum Level of Experience Required:** 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Essential Duties & Functions

+ Prepares surfaces for painting by washing, patching, scraping, sanding and taping.

+ Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain or vinyl wall covering to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings and fixtures.

+ Removes and replaces carpet, floor tile and cover base.

+ Selects paint and appropriate materials. Can mix or blend paints and coatings.

+ Cleans area and equipment upon completion of work.

+ Orders and picks up supplies necessary to complete task and restock supplies

+ Stencils, finishes new wood, strips and refinishes damaged or scratched furniture, doors, and other fixtures

+ Performs basic maintenance services such as changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, plunging toilets, snaking sinks, and drains, replacing televisions and nurse call cords, and minor equipment repairs. High level of customer service when dealing with staff and visitors.
